It’s Been a while.  But this is cool and I’m doing it and you can do it too if you want.  Thursday November 19th The Electric Tickle Machine is playing at the Lounge in Deep Ellum.  Ryan showed these guys to me a few weeks ago and they are radical.  Super catchy with lots of energy.  It’s shows like this that I miss going to.

See you there!

This is a pretty good music video for Skeleton Boy by Clemens Habicht. You can’t really go wrong with black spandex, some double sided tape and a few Bean Bag Chair organ donors.Enjoy

If you guys haven’t had a chance to see Vega yet I suggest going to this:

VEGAatLOUNGE

So I get to the shop this morning and to my surprise the wonderful Miss Jennifer Finnegan aka J-Money is here modeling our new womens spring stuff here at Centre.  So as we’re playing “catch-up,” Jen mentions Of Legends, an incredibly impressive one person hardcore act healined by none other than Luis Dubuc of  The Secret Handshake.

You’ll just have to do yourself a favor and listen to Of Legends.  This is what it reminds me of:

Good work Luis!

So about a year ago I read a review on a band called Gaslight Anthem.  I immediately looked them up, (this is weird because I don’t usually take writers opinions on music.) and I immediately got into their sound.  I don’t know what it is about this band that I like so much but for the longest time I didn’t tell anyone else about them.  They never came up in conversation until last Tuesday when my favorite sound guy (also one of my favorite humans in general,) John Eric Hernandes told me that they would be in town TONIGHT!

They’re playing tonight with Heartless Bastards and A Death In The Family (Three real bad asses from Melbourne.)

Tickets are $17 at the door and the show starts at 8pm.  Tonight is a nice night for the Granada.  See you there.

Department of Eagles released their new video “No One Does It Like You,”

Directed by Patrick Daughters. This video is pretty amazing. The video is based off the artwork of Marcel Dzama

Enjoy!

It’s 1p.m. and I’ve already listened to 5 Green Day albums today.

Appropriate.

So I’ve got an entire shelf of film at my house that are just waiting to be developed, and of course I didn’t label any of them.  My goal is to get them all developed over the course of the next couple of months.

The first  roll is a COMBO ROLL!!!  There were several events that wound up on this particular roll.  The 2nd Annual Skate or Die Party, Gazelles Playing the Mohawk in Austin and a few shots from the Gazelles Video shoot.

Enjoy!

Imagine really hard.  9:35am, 86 degrees Fahrenheit outside as you’re leaving the coffee shop, (after spending multiple minutes deciding if it’s too nice outside for a warm caffeinated beverage or an ice cold one to counter the suns increasingly warm and welcoming rays.)

Next on your agenda: deciding upon an agenda for the day.  Jumping into a brisk swimming pool is an option for the first time in 2009.  It’s a toss up between that and a long scooter ride through downtown cities, Suburban surrounded parks or leaving the asphalt and side walks behind and seeing if you can get access to the off road trails that rest above the length of the Trinity River.  You’ve got the entire day ahead of you not wanting to waste any of it inside.

Unfortunately It’s still February, and while Texas’ crazy ass winter forecast rewards us evey so often, we’ve still got a good 2 months before we’re spending our days off pool side.

What’s that?!  You need a soundtrack for these dazzling day dreams?  Here you go:

Xylos have fashioned five tracks that bring out my inner tank top and bermuda shorts.  I live for summer and these tracks remind me how much the winter wait is worth.  Download Xylos ‘Bedrooms’ ep here.

It’s really hard to explain how incredibly entertaining the boys from The Burning Hotels are.  On stage it’s completely obvious how effing cool and tallented these guys are but off stage is a different story.  I really cherish every time I’m fortunate enought to have a run-in with them (heaven forbid there’s more than one of them in the same room,)  BECAUSE IT’S SOOO DAMN FUNNY!!!  Not only that but they’re the coolest, nicest guys ever!

I ran into Matt, Chance and Wyatt Christmas Night at 7th Haven the other night and Wyatt informed me of his new green Screen … What he’s going to do with it, who knows!  But I’m sure it will be ridiculously awesome!

The next day I was stoked when Chance posted another video segment from the recording studio.

As if The Hotels being in the studio isn’t exciting enough, they will be making their silver screen debut in Bandslam, Directed by Todd Graff and Starring Vanessa Hudgins and Lisa Kudrow, which will hit theatres July 31st, 2009.  Unfortunately there is barely any info (trailers, posters, pictures) online so maybe it will be a myster until this summer.

Keep up the good work Hotels!
